About Us
Xenergie was founded by Lorna McDowell in 2001 and is co-owned by Lorna and fellow co-director, Bernard Chanliau. With its administration office in Ireland, Xenergie has a presence across Ireland (Dublin and Galway), London (UK) and Paris (France) with international coaching partners in China, the Netherlands, Switzerland and USA.

Did you choose your organisation or did it choose you?
If we are courageous in our vision to see the world as it could be, ourselves as we could be, if we take the trouble to look a little deeper, new outcomes and improvements emerge. Interestingly, one often finds that one has exactly the job or the organisation that one needs right now, in order to make a difference first in ourselves, rather than looking outside of ourselves. What might be lacking is the courage to make that difference.
Midwives of a New World – Shaping the Future as it Emerges
At Xenergie, we don’t profess to having all the answers or that there is a silver bullet that will solve all. That misses the point. But we do know how to engage people in the dialogue and the space that facilitates transition – letting go of the old to let come the new. We are midwives for change - helping people and organisations make the connections, find the courage and prepare readiness to step through in the new and help it take shape.
How do we do it?
Our own company’s journey has produced much of our learning in building a business built on attitude, collaboration and making a difference in a world where the shape of the future is emerging. As a multi-location company with a committed team, we pay great attention to our own communication and culture. Our continued integrity and belief in what we do is the fire that's keeping us moving forward embracing the future as it emerges.
We have a team of hand-picked experts in a variety of disciplines from strategy development (linking people attitudes and behaviours to business success) through to leadership coaching, teamwork, change facilitation, conflict and mediation, corporate health and wellbeing education. In each programme, we match consultant to the project, carefully exploring personality, experience and skills fit to create the optimum cocktail for addressing each challenge.
The majority of our team typically have a track record in business, often senior management, prior to becoming coaches/consultants, and are in ongoing professional development and supervision in accordance with their chosen professional association. Xenergie is also in the process of becoming a FETAC aligned learning centre and is an active member and contributor to the Irish Coach Development Network and the International Coach Federation.
Time for Contracting & Measurement
At the beginning of each project we clearly define goals and respective responsibilities between contracting parties, and we also agree a methodology for measuring the success of the project at defined intervals. This takes time to complete thoroughly and may involve a number of people as well as ROI technology, but it is time wisely invested due to the perceived intangibility of the subject – our experience is that when this doesn’t happen misunderstandings occur because intentions and responsibilities are confused and have not been firmly clarified. Where there is resistance to making this extra effort, it is frequently a sign of a systemic failure of accountability.
