The Feminine Way To Create Business

By Bernard Chanliau, Friday 18 August, 2006

The One Day SEED Experience

More women than ever before want to start their own enterprise and the untapped potential of women entrepreneurs is now a key development focus in Ireland.  Women have a wealth of natural attributes and values-led principles at their disposal, not least of which are integrity, creativity, inclusiveness, and the ability to multi-task and to nurture and grow.  However, they face many barriers not usually applicable to men. Many have low self-confidence in a traditionally male-dominated business world where the language is about survival of the fittest and focus is on spreadsheets, competition, and confrontation. They often have additional life constraints such as looking after children and other family members, and therefore need flexibility of hours and location.

Developing confidence and learning to play to their natural strengths is the way forward, according to celebrity business guru, Lynne Franks, who will be giving a one-day course for female entrepreneurs on Sunday 22 October at the Burren Holistic Centre in Co Clare, in conjunction with Xenergie’s women in business coaching programmes.

Since 2000, Lynne has been developing the SEED programme - sustainable economics and enterprise development for women – an education programme that is now taught across the UK and the USA, run in conjunction with the Universities of Luton and Leicester in the UK, and developed into community support groups around the UK.

On 22 October in Co Clare, Lynne will be giving a one-day taster of the SEED programme, which she will be developing in Ireland in 2007 with Xenergie Life & Executive coaching.

"I firmly believe that doing business through collaboration and connection is part of the big picture for this planet,” says Lynne.  "We can find the answers together and do business in a loving way. Helping women to acknowledge their strengths and their gifts is a vital part of this."

Xenergie provides 1-1 coaching, group coaching and weekend retreats on personal and business development for women in business and first time entrepreneurs.

"Escaping the rat race and learning to let your instinctive passions and talents shine in a business context is a core part of our women in business coaching programme.  We address YOU - the attitudes and behaviours that make entrepreneurs successful, the capacity, the self belief, the creativity, and the persistence to overcome obstacles and develop winning ideas into tangible business plans" says Lorna McDowell, managing director of Xenergie.
