For coaches who wish to explore their own professional practice by being part of a group supervision workshop, please explore Xenergie Group Wisdom: Professional Coach Supervision workshop
What is coaching supervision? Coaching supervision is a time set aside, on a regular basis, for coaches to reflect on their practice with a professional who is experienced in both coaching and supervision. In a supervision session the person(s) being supervised (supervisee) usually presents a specific case or various issues arising from his/her coaching practice. This takes place on either a one to one or small group basis, creating a structured ‘wisdom space’ for continuous learning and heightened awareness. It also helps to prevent burnout, which can all to often creep up when one works alone and in self-employment.
The role of the supervisor is to assist both in reflection and learning for the coachees, typically using Hawkins & Smith’ “seven-eyed” model where work is explored from multiple perspectives. Ultimately, supervision is a treasured wisdom space for excellence and group supervision provides the added enhancement of learning from others’ experiences and sharing thought leadership.
Lorna McDowell will facilitate this group workshop - Lorna is a highly experienced executive coach and one of Ireland’s first graduates in coaching supervision (2yr Diploma Advanced Diploma in Coaching Supervision), trained by Dr Michael Carroll, University of Middx.
