AN INTRODUCTION TO ORGANISATIONAL ENQUIRY & ANALYSIS
Rethinking Organisation Design for BUSINESS EXCELLENCE in conjunction with the ICBE Finuas Network.
With the current recession causing a "back to basics" attitude amongst management, cultural gridlock may have embedded itself further as a coping strategy for surviving and thriving. Recent research from McKinsey finds that whilst organisations are beginning to focus on growth again, they have not fundamentally changed the way they work, maintaining a limiting status quo that creates high strategic risk.
Key to unlocking the problem is the development of a new relationship to thinking about organisation improvement and the development of a new language in the organisation that joins up thinking and brings together intelligences about culture, people, organisation and current business context, to understand what is happening. This new approach enables the organisational flexibility and insight essential in order to begin to make informed decisions, adapt and align in a rapidly changing business context, to ensure sustainability of the organisation.
This webinar introduces the concept of organisation analysis and enquiry for business transformation, and opens up the debate about how it should be applied, orchestrated and managed within an organisation, amidst the backdrop of cost efficiencies and social vigilance.
For those who are interested in further study, this webinar is followed by a 1-day workshop in Dublin on 20 October, in which one of the key concepts of organisation analysis, "Person-in-Role" will be explored. Please consult our workshop section on the website for further information.
John Bazalgette, senior organisation analyst with the Grubb Institute and Lorna McDowell, organisation analyst within Xenergie Consulting Ireland/UK will describe some of the exciting work that is being done in this area through their work. Whilst many of the theories are not new, their application has only now come to the fore as being critical for survival in the times we live in.
Bazalgette, one of the pioneers of this field, brings over 30 years international experience consulting around the globe and McDowell is focused on applying the work and developing awareness of it in organisations in UK and Ireland.
